نویسنده
چکیده
The flavor violating μ − e conversion in nuclei is studied within the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We focus on the R-parity violating contributions at tree level including the trilinear and the bilinear terms in the superpotential as well as in the soft supersymmetry breaking sector. The nucleon and nuclear structure have consistently been taken into account in the expression of the μ − e conversion branching ratio constructed in this framework. We have found that the contribution of the strange quark sea of the nucleon is comparable with that of the valence quarks. From the available experimental data on μ−−e− conversion in 48Ti and 208Pb and the expected sensitivity of the MECO experiment for 27Al we have extracted new stringent limits on the R-parity violating parameters. We illustrate the sensitivities of LEP experiments to leptonic signals associated to models where supersymmetry (SUSY) is realized with spontaneous breaking of R-parity. We focus on missing transverse momentum plus acoplanar muon events (p /T + μ μ) arising from lightest neutralino single production χν as well as pair production χχ, followed by χ decays, where χ denotes the lightest neutralino....

The tree-level contributions to the flavor violating μ − e conversion in a nucleus are derived in the minimal supersymmetric model with general case of R-parity violation including the trilinear and the bilinear R-parity violating terms in the superpotential and in the soft supersymmetry breaking sector. Calculating the μ − e conversion rate we consistently take into account the nucleon and nuc...

Theoretical and phenomenological implications of R-parity violation in supersymmetric theories are discussed in the context of particle physics and cosmology. Fundamental aspects include the relation with continuous and discrete symmetries and the various allowed patterns of R-parity breaking. Recent developments on the generation of neutrino masses and mixings within different scenarios of R-p...

The possible appearance of R-parity violating couplings, and hence implicitly the question of lepton and baryon number conservation, has been emphasised since the early development of supersymmetric theories. The rich phenomenology implied by R-parity violation has now gained full attention in the search for supersymmetry. In this review, theoretical and phenomenological implications of R-parit...

The HERA collaborations, H1 and ZEUS, have searched for physics beyond the Standard Model in e ± p collisions at centre-of-mass energies of up to 319 GeV. In this article the experimental results coming from the HERA I phase are sum-marised and the constraints on theories of new physics including Contact Interactions , Large Extra Dimensions, Leptoquarks, FCNC and various scenarios in R-parity ...
